Qualified teachers will ensuring that our children have the opportunity to participate in classes, which may ordinarily not be possible. In addition, After School Care children have the opportunity to be collected from their schools and attend dance classes, in various forms of dance, in one location. For working families who struggle with the time constraint of these types of activities being traditionally after school, this will give your children, both boys and girls, those dancing classes they have been dreaming about.
Dance classes for Jellybean’s (2-3 year olds) and Pre-primary (4-5 year olds) are held during the day for both children enrolled into our service and where places allow, family and friends of our centre from our local community.
So… Why Dancing?
Dancing is a highly physical activity, and children that dance regularly will have significant improvement in their overall physical health. Regular dance practice can increase children’s flexibility, range of motion, physical strength and stamina. The repetitive movements involved in dance can improve muscle tone, correct poor posture, increase balance and coordination and improve overall cardiovascular health.
In addition to being a physical activity, dancing is also a highly social activity. Dancing will help your child improve their social and communication skills, learn how to work as part of a team, develop a greater sense of trust and cooperation and make new friends. Dance can also help to alleviate fears related to performing in front of an audience
Becoming a skilled dancer requires practice, discipline and focus, skills that can be useful in other areas of your child’s life. Dance lessons can also help to spark creativity in young children and help them to develop an appreciation for the arts.
